The Power Station – proposal for energy-themed teaching resources for schools

Our proposals for The Power Station are based on the findings of our ECITB-commissioned research report into using the theme of energy as an opportunity for talking about engineering in the classroom.

The Power Station is the working title for a proposed set of energy-themed teaching materials for learners aged thirteen to sixteen. The idea behind The Power Station is to create a set of online support materials that provide a general introduction to the theme of energy for a wide range of audiences, but that also allows audiences to drill down into more depth according to their needs. The Power Station would be a flexible framework that allows more resources to be added over time. The Power Station would be divided into two distinct sections: a resource bank that presents key information about energy; and an activity bank designed for a range of different audiences that draw on the resource bank.

For more information including visual mock-ups, see our proposal document.
