As we have reported previously, we are working on a commission from Cogent to design a five-day hands-on learning event designed to encourage mechanical and electrical engineers to take up a career in the nuclear new-build sector. As we learned during the pilot of the Nuclear Island event for civil engineering students, industry buy-in is a prerequisite for the success of the pilot. The inaugral industry advisory group meeting on 14th November will be the first opportunity for us to discuss our proposals with industry. The event will be held at Coventry University. The proposal documents will be circulated to attendees prior to the event, but we will also make them available for download from the Think Up project page.
