Yesterday we launched a new practical guide full of suggestions for how sustainability teaching can be enhanced in civil engineering teaching. The report, ‘Embedding Sustainability in Undergraduate Civil Engineering Courses – a practical guide’ is funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Joint Board of Moderators, the body responsible for accrediting civil engineering degree course. In the report, we set out three challenges that engineers must overcome in order to my progress in the field of sustainable design, and provide nine principles for how these challenges can be overcome in undergraduate teaching. The launch took place at the Association of Civil Engineering Departments (ACED) conference at the Institution of Civil Engineers.
The report is available for download from the ‘Undergraduate Staffroom’ area of the Expedition Workshed website.
